This session is for beginners. You either don't have an active account yet or you've had a username for a little while but you're feeling a bit lost. Everything in this session will be aimed at the very first stages of having an account and will give you the confidence to know what you will post, who your ideal audience will be and how to use each element of the app.

We will not cover any practical photography in this session. 

What's Covered: 

Setting up your account

  •  Choosing the perfect username and writing a great bio

Planning your account

  • What can you post that tells your story?
  • How much should you share? 
  • Finding your voice, setting the tone in captions
  • Integrating Instagram to your current marketing plan. 
  • Who are your supporters and cheerleaders?
  • Who are your customers/contacts already on Instagram?
  • What do you need Instagram for- community/sales/industry contacts etc 

Getting Started

  • Sharing photos on Instagram
  • How to use hashtags including how to find relevant and active hashtags for your specific business
  • How to tag other accounts and locations
  • How to use the stories feature 
  • Where to find your audience 

Every workshop will be tailored to the needs of those attending. There is a maximum number of four people per session to ensure everyone has time to talk about their business. If you choose to become a support pod for one another, this is encouraged but not expected! 

Workshop Leader

I am Anna, a professional photographer with a pre-motherhood background in PR and copywriting. I know that Instagram can be a fantastic addition to the marketing strategy of a small business. 89% of my own web traffic and sales comes from my @instannnnagram account. I work with many small businesses and understand the pressure they face to "do it all". 

This workshop is designed to give you knowledge and confidence to get going with Instagram.
